Disneyland March 22, 2013

We have started a tradition for Cole's birthday where we go to Disneyland and then back to Pismo Beach for a week. Well, this year we decided to just take the kids to California Adventure Side of Disneyland and enjoy Cars Land and enjoy everything that side has to offer. The drive down was a breeze until we hit LA and then it took us 2 1/2 hours to get to our hotel because of TRAFFIC. It was horrible. The kids were hungry, tired, needed to use the potty's and just wanted to get there to relax and have some fun. When we finally got to our beautiful hotel, we quickly fed the kids, and off to the pool and hot tub. By this point it was about 9:00 and the kids were super tired. I gave them their new Disney shirts and off to bed we all went. Friday morning we got up early (which was not hard with the excitement of going to Disneyland) and headed to Disneyland. We had a BLAST and to be honest, I think JD and I enjoyed California Adventure Side more. It was more mellow, less people and less stress. Plus, I was able to enjoy a yummy lunch and a Beer, which they sell on this side of the park. Cole went on all the rides, including the Cars ride with dad. They were in line for about 2 hours but they had a blast and Carly napped the whole time, so I was able to people watch and enjoy that beer I was talking about :-)! I was able to take Cole on Tower of Terror, which I was so proud of him for going on. He LOVED it! Carly went on all the rides she could and I can't wait for next year when she can go on the bigger rides. We left the park about 3 and headed up the coast to Camarillo. We planned our time poorly again and sat in traffic for another 3 hours. The kids were so tired from the day that they slept through all the traffic. JD and I enjoyed driving through the beach towns and the quietness of the kiddos sleeping. When we FINALLY got to our hotel (Embassy Suits). we were ready for some fun. The hotel was beautiful and right on the beach. JD and I joked the whole time because it felt like we were in the Twilight Zone because the hotel was basically vacant and it was HUGE. We hit up the happy hour (free drinks) because let's face it, we needed some drinks after the day we had, ordered some pizza and went in the hotel's massive hot tub and pool. Again, by the time we got back to our room, it was about 10:00, kids were tired and us parents were tired as well. We all fell asleep in the same bed and woke up to the beautiful sound of the ocean and the beautiful feeling of knowing we had 8 days ahead of us in our Happiest Place on Earth... Pismo!

Boys!

Had to post this for the shear fact that I think it is adorable of Cole, Koa, Bailey and a new friend that came along with us to yogurt. I think the boys enjoyed the dirt hill more than their yogurt!

Mom and son date.

The other night, JD and I decided that I would take Cole on a date and he would take Carly on a date. Cole had gotten a gift card to Walmart for his b-day and was dying to go pick out a toy. So, that was our first stop, which he picked out a really cool remote control airplane. Then we decided to go to Mel's Diner for milkshakes and french fries. The milkshake did not disappoint and I snapped this picture of Cole enjoying how amazing they really are ;-)! Dad took Carly out to sushi. Carly let me know that "she no like fish and only liked peas" ha! Dad stopped and got her a milkshake of her own on the way home!

Opening Day for Baseball.

OMG, melt my heart! Cole had opening day for his first season of baseball a few weeks back and the whole day, I could of cried with how cute he looked in his uniform. The County put on a great opening day. All the teams marched in and where announced over the loud speaker, then they had a bounce house, food, raffles and team pictures. I was amazed with how many kids ranging from 5 to 14 are in Gold Rush Little League. Cole barley made the age requirement to play but  you would never be able to tell with how good of a little slugger he is.

Another trip to the JRB!

Just a few pictures of Cole, Carly and Regan up at Jack Russell Brewery. Thought they were super cute! Carly looks like she is straight out of the 70's.

Warm Spring Day!

Ahhh, the weather is getting nicer and nicer and once it starts to warm up the kids love to head down to the pool. The problem is the pool is still FREEZING. Cole has no problem jumping in and then racing to get out and Carly, my no fear child, loves to stress me out by walking along the side wall of the pool, teetering along. We all can't wait for summer and for the pool to be warm.

Cole's 5th Birthday / Part 2

This pictures is from when we took Cole to the Sacramento Zoo on his actual birthday.

We also took Cole to the boat show for his birthday!
Plus, we had a small party at the pizza parlor for his birthday!
 Picture from the zoo day.

Cole's birthday door. A tradition my mom did with us and I always loved waking up on my birthday to the 'Birthday Door" and getting to run through it.

OK, I am trying to catch up with pictures and these are from Cole's birthday over a month ago. They are also not in order, which really makes my OCD kick into gear. We had a cousin/family for him at the house and he asked for sports decorations and a Luke and Darth Vador on his cake. So, of course I took off running with this idea and thought it turned out pretty dang cute.
