19 Months Old!

Carly Anna you are 19 months old. We recently lowered your crib into a toddler bed. Guess why... you my darling are a climber. Although I applaud you and am amazed at your ability to climb up, over and down things, it makes for a very nervous mommy. We did not lower this same crib down for Cole until he was 2. You now just get our of bed with bunny in hand and walk into our room with a super cute "Hi Mama, Hi Dadda". Although not so cute at 1:00 in the morning. A few fun facts about you at this age.

You wear size 4 diapers.
You weigh 24 pounds.
You wear a size 6 shoe and mommy just recently figured out you have a wide foot. Sorry for the blisters...opps.
Your hair has gotten so blonde and I can now put it up in pigtails... my favorite.
Your vocabulary is taking off and you love the word NO. You started saying YES just today and it is the cutest thing.
You are still SUPER attached to me.
You are still attached to your bunny and recently mommy had to go to the brand new bunny because we lost the original at swim team. No worries, it is the same and you have no idea....THANK GOD!
You are a dare devil and NOTHING scares you.
You love to hang with brother and the big kids.
You don't like to drink milk anymore, now that I took your bottle away.
You hate to brush your teeth.
You love to swim and already enjoy going under the water.
You basically run the house and you like to get into everything.
You give the best hugs.
You love to be barefoot.
You are so independent.

Suddenly, I see you growing out of the baby stage and really into the toddler stage. You make mommy laugh everyday and I love you so much. Keep me laughing Carly Girl.

Swim Team...a way of life!

Cole is have a AMAZING time on the Dry Diggins Dolphins. We have had two meets and he has ROCKED them both. The first race, JD and I were brought to tears as we watched our 4 year old (youngest on the team) stand at the starting block with determination in his eyes, launch into that water and swim his little heart out, in what was one of the best moments of not only his life but his mommy's and daddy's as well. This kid goes to every practice, which is everyday, with a smile on his face and a love for the water. He has won over all the coaches and many parents as well. He walks into the pool area in his super cute tight trunks, a tan that anyone would love, a pair of shades and that beautiful smile on his face and everyone just melts for him. He learned his backstroke this week and will be racing in it this Saturday in his meet along with the freestyle. It is crazy to think we have the youngest kiddo out there that keeps up with the big kids. He is doing so well, that he actually received the Swimmer of the Week cap, for all his hard work, determination at practice and learning the backstroke in a day. He gets to wear this special white cap at practices for a week and at the meet this Saturday. Can you say proud parents?!? I can't even express the pride I have knowing that the little, tan 4 year old on the team is my son. I might even walk into the pool deck area with a big smirk on my face as I walk next to the Swimmer of the Week.

1st Year of Preschool!

Cole finished his first year of Preschool and we could not be more proud of him. As I have posted before this was Cole's 3rd preschool and 3rd time really is a charm. He loves it at First Friends Montessori and I love that he loves it. Ms. Kelly and Ms. Maggie are wonderful and I love them just as much. I trust them, which is a hard thing for any mom to do with their most priced possession. He has learned so much and I see him grow on a daily basis at school. They had a darling end of the year play and Cole stole the show. He was in a group of 5 kids that were supposed to say the same line at the same time, however after they ALL said the line the rest of the kids went to sit down and Cole went right up to the mic on his own and proudly stated "On Friday he ate through five oranges but he was still hungry". It truly is a moment I will never forget. I of course, cried and could of stood up yelling in front of the 30 parents/grandparents...that's my boy (even though it is Placerville and everybody already knows that's my boy)! Cole will return to First Friends in August and will go 3 days instead of 2. Thank God he has 1 more year of Preschool because this mommy is not ready for her priced possession to go to Kindergarten just yet. Mommy is proud of you Cole!
