Ohhh, Carly!

Ohhh Carly, what am I going to do with you? I ran out to the car the other day for a total of 20 seconds and when I came back in the house I heard a strange sound from the kitchen. As I came around the corner this is where I found Carly. Thats right, up on the counter in the MEDICINE cabinet!!! My heart sank as I ran over to her to see if she could have gotten into anything in the 20 seconds I was gone. Thank God nothing had happened and as I was putting her down off the counter, I got a "sorry mommy" and a kiss! This child is going to give me a heart attack one of these days.

Perfect sport for Carly...Gymnastics!

Well, the time has come to start Carly in gymnastics. I have been secretly waiting to have her start since I knew I was having a baby girl. I had Cole in gymnastics as well and he recently decided he wanted to take a break from it. I knew gymnastics for Cole was just a good activity for his coordination, flexibility and strength. I also new, once he reached the ALL boy class that JD was going to start asking when his tough and all boy son would stop this activity and move onto bigger boy sports. You see I grew up in the sport of gymnastics and competed at a National level. I have wonderful memories and not so wonderful memories in the years I competed. It can be a tricky sport for young girls if you get up into the competion levels and I always said If I had a little girl I was not going to let her compete. Well, I guess times have changed. I see Carly out there in her adorable leotards bouncing, climbing, swinging and loving every minute of it and I can't help but see potential in her little body! The girl is SO coordinated and has NO FEAR. The two things you need most in a sport like gymnastics. My friend who I competed with at this same gym that Carly goes to, coaches the girls team and she can already see the potential I see. I guess you start having hopes and dreams for your kids even at this young age. I will say JD and I do make extremely athletic kiddos. Even if my Carly girl decides she hates the sport of gymnastics it will be fun to see what she gravitates towards.

Carly starts swim lessons!

 So excited!

 Insisted she needed goggles!

Carly started swim lessons last week and she could not of been more excited. You see, she has been watching her brother swim since birth! It has been a challenge taking Cole to swim lessons and his swim team and trying to keep Carly out of the pool. Truth be told, I have been waiting for this day so I could just sit down for 30 minutes and not have to chase baby around! I started Carly the exact same time as I started Cole. 2 weeks before their 2nd birthday. We all know what a natural Cole is in the water and I could not wait to see how Miss Carly did. I can honestly say, she is a natural as well. The thing with Carly is she has NO fear. She loves to go under water, jump off the sides and even has the movement of the freestyle down. I think she has learned quite a bit from watching Cole all this time. I am excited to watch her learn and become a fantastic swimmer like her brother. Plus, I have the fear of her escaping into the backyard every day and making it down to the pool, so her learning to swim will take a big fear of mine away. Can't believe we have now started sports and activities with her. Such a fun time!

No sleep Carly!

This little girl has not been sleeping! Not only is Miss Carly tired and cranky but mommy and daddy are also tired and cranky. Unfortunately she has had a horrible cough that keeps waking her up at night and during her naps. Naps consist of 15 minutes and she tosses and turns ALL night in mom and dad's bed... uggg! I can't wait for her to be back on a sleeping schedule, so we ALL can get a good nights rest. Please Lord let that be soon.

Last music class for Carly... for now!

 Carly and Charlotte.
Carly's friends in music class!

We finished a 10 week session of music class and it was wonderful. We can't wait for the the next session in January!

Cole's cast is OFF!

I am a little late in posting this but about a week ago Mr. Cole got his cast off. We were all so excited and had been counting down the days until he got it off from the first day it was on. Needless to say it was a LONG 4 weeks. I took Cole to the toy store afterwards and he picked out 2 toys, we then went to lunch with dad and the biggest treat that Cole wanted was to sit in the hot tub and soak that stinky and dirty arm. We of course kept the cast and it now sits in a sip lock bag for god knows what reason.

A few cute pictures!

Just catching up in pictures!

End of Soccer Season!

Lincoln, Ava, Abby, Ricardo, Cole and coach Nicole.
 Cole getting his trophy!
Cole's soccer season ended and although he did not get to play all the games, due to a broken wrist, he did finish as the assistant coach to JD and he fulfilled his commitment to the Dragonflies and finished the season strong. The kids were so excited to receive their trophies! Cole, could not wait and what he never realized was mommy & daddy were the ones that took care of the trophies and they had been in a box in our house for 2 weeks! I love being sneaky!

Placerville Airport!

Growing up in Placerville and living by the airport I can remember going with my dad to sit and watch the airplanes take off and land. As I got older I would frequent the airport to sit in my car, have lunch and watch the airplanes land and take off. It was a relaxing place for me to go and think. Now that we are back in Placerville and live by the airport, I take Cole and Carly there to watch the airplanes take off and land. We get to walk out, check out the airplanes and just sit and enjoy each others company. We have sat and talked for hours at a time. Something about it up there, that just relaxes the kiddos.  I can see their wheels turning in their heads with imagination as they watch the planes. Its funny how simple (and free) a special place like the airport can hold so many great memories from past, to present, to future!

This girl and her poor lips!

This poor girl has busted her lips 3 times. Once on the top and twice in the SAME spot (see picture above). The one on the top lip has healed well, the one on the bottom lip that has split twice is another story. The first time it happened she was 14 months old and banged it on a piece of wood. I felt she was too young to take to the doctor to stitch it (I have since regretted that). The second time happened recently when a sitter was over and Cole and baby collided and her lip opened up in that same spot. Her lip now has a permanent bump and it is VERY noticeable. JD and I have come to the conclusion that at about the age of 12 we will have to take baby in for some lip plastic surgery. Then again you never know if it will be her trade mark scar that shoots her into SUPERMODEL mode!

My handsome Darth Vador at his school Halloween Carnival.
Grandma Pat Pat came along as well and helped in the classroom.
Coles best friends, Mason and Finn!
Trying out the whipped cream on a gummy worm game.

Carly of course got in on the action of the eyeball game.
Carly actually sat still to get her face painted.
 Candy coma!
I made these cute and easy Ghost popcorn bags for our Halloween Party in the court.
We rented a bounce house for the 70...yes 70 people that came to enjoy a party/bbq and trick or treating.
Our set up for the party. We made the Gazebo into a Gazeboo! It was a fun and BUSY night.

Bounce O Palace!

I took the kids to Bounce O Palace in El Dorado Hills last week. Daddy was out of town and I try to keep the kids as busy as possible when he is gone. We had a blast as usual and stayed for 3 hours! Needless to say the kiddos were wiped out that night. When we got there and I was getting ready to pay, the lady behind the counter asked if Carly was under 2. I said yes and she explained to me that because she is under 2 I would not have to pay because the little ones can't really do much because the bounce houses were so big. I chuckled under my breath and thought, she has not met our Carly Girl. I guess the pictures can prove that Carly did not hold back and kept up with all the big kids like she was a 5 year old. The girl has no fear!

Tahoe for the weekend...again! Oct 26 - 28th

 Painting Pumpkins!
 Playing in the snow!

 Getting SO big.

Carly enjoyed playing in the structures than golfing.

 Time to ride the rides!
 Up, up and away!
Once again we went to Tahoe. I have blogged about our times up there so much, that I feel like I would just be repeating myself. It was another beautiful weekend and we enjoyed our time together as a family!
