When Daddy's away we will PLAY!

JD had another business trip and was gone from early Tuesday until Thursday night. Which means, I try my best to keep the kiddos as busy as possible, which for some reason seems to make the day's easier and go by faster. I guess the saying "time flies when your having fun" is true! Besides Cole being in school 3 days a week fro 9:00 - 12:00, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we filled our days with enjoying the beautiful and super warm weather for this time of year, basketball practice, hanging with Pa Pa and Grandma Pat Pat and nice hot baths in moms bathtub every night! I held down the fort and all in all the three of us (4 if you count buddy) had a nice and sometimes crazy 3 days. I will admit we missed daddy oh so much and I am one tired mommy that might need a kid free break but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but with these loves of my life.

And so it begins...SPORTS!

Cole,

Here we are at the tender age of 3 (almost 4) and you have began your sports journey. Yes, it is just a 4 week basketball camp with 3 - 5 year olds but daddy and I are very excited for this new chapter to begin. I must admit I was very excited to buy you the must darling outfit, warm ups and shoes for your first "practice". You my boy, were the best dressed and of course the most handsome boy there. You were so excited to go and could not get the gym fast enough. You caught right on and enjoyed the 45 minutes of "drills". I think daddy had a great time watching you too and helped you out a lot. He is so proud of you. You have a natural talent for sports and we can already see it. You are good at everything. At 18 months you were swinging a golf club like a pro, you ride a scooter like a 12 year old, you were full on swimming by yourself the day you turned 3 and in gymnastics (yes, mommy has you in that too) you are the strongest in every class. We can't wait to see what the future holds for you in sports. Fun times are ahead. Remember practice makes perfect. Love you little man!

A new house = a new Preschool!

A new house = a new Preschool but really = a very nervous mommy. You see, I am one of those moms that started planning, looking and had Cole on a list at the age of 1 for preschool, even though he would not start until he was 3. Now here we are at 3 and this is his third Preschool...uggg. His first one (that required his name on the list at 1) was in East Sac and I loved that one. He only went there for about 1 month. Then our house sold and thinking that we would be moving to El Dorado Hills, I got him into a great Preschool called Busy Bees that he has been going to for 5 months. Again, we loved that one and he had made some great friends but I was commuting him 2 days a week from Placerville. So while he was at school, mommy and Charly had to find things to do for 3 hours, which is not easy with a baby. We would find ourselves in Target wondering around buying things that we really did not need. Then I would drive around while she attempted to nap in the car (nightmare). So, when I fell in love with our new home in Placerville, I new driving him would not be realistic and the hunt was on for another Preschool. I had heard about Country Day Montessori from a friend who's little girl goes there and my dad and brother also know the owner. I also heard that it is hard to get into and there is a waiting list....uggg. So, I of course dressed Cole and baby in some hip and cute outfits and up to the school we went. I met Miss Carol and my two super cute kids took a tour of the school. The kids were doing yoga that day and my super hip Cole ran in, saw his friend Emma, off went his shoes and he was hooked for the next hour. I talked with Carol and instintly felt like this was the place for not only Cole but for Charly too. I was praying the whole time that she would fall in love with my super hip and cute dressed kiddos and we would sneak ahead of the waiting list! Low and behold she told me there was 1 spot open for the Spring and Cole could take that spot. So, now here we are about a month later and I just dropped Cole off for his first day at Montessori. I did not sleep at all last night thinking and hopping that he would have a easy transition and now I sit worried that he is having fun, that he is making more friends and that of course he know where the bathroom is in case he has to go. Although he did inform me today that he only poops at home, which now I am even more stressed that he will have to go and won't want to... uggg the stress of a mom! I must admit it is nice to be able to come home after I drop him off, put Charly down for a nap and have some ME time (hard to find these days). I should be cleaning, doing laundry getting ready for the rest of our day but it is nice to just sit and enjoy the quiet. Well, Cole man I hope one day you read this and know how much mommy loves and wants what is best for you. Although I am enjoying the quiet, I miss you so much when you are not with me. I have loved being your stay at home mommy and now I am watching you grow into a little boy. SLOW DOWN MY COLE MAN. WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE. Mommy loves you.

Oh Charly...

Oh Charly, you can be the sweetest baby I know but you also have this little mean/wild side. You already know at the tender age of 1 how to pick on your brother until you make him crazy and upset. This picture says it all sweet girl. We are working on the hitting and more hugs and kisses, which you do give out quiet graciously. You do love your brother and your brother loves you. You guys will be the greatest of friends and will take care of each other.

So, I leave this post with a picture that most describes you and Cole. I love you my sweet (sometimes crazy) Charly Girl.

Happy New Year!

Cole and Charly, I love you two more than you will ever know. I can't wait to love you for the rest of our lifes. You two are mommy's world and I am consumed by how spectacular you kiddos are. 2011 was probably the fastest year for mommy. Charly was only 1 month old when the year started and Cole you quickly fell in love with your sister. Already you guys are best friends and I am so glad you have each other. Mommy's world is complete with the two of you and I love EVERYDAY with you guys. Now, if only I could slow down time. Cole you will be 4 in a few months and mommy has no idea where the time has gone. Slow down please, don't grow up to fast. I am trying to hold on to every second I have with you guys and cherish every day. You guys might be getting bigger but you will ALWAYS be mommy's babies. Cole, you are my favorite boy in this entire world and I love you to the moon. Charly, you are my favorite girl in this entire world and I love you to the moon. SLOW DOWN PLEASE, DON'T GROW UP TO FAST!
