Tahoe Christmas Trip! December 25 - 30 2012
We left for Tahoe after all the Christmas festivities at my parents house! We drove up just as the sun was going down and the snow started to fall. The kids crashed out in the backseat so they missed a lot of the drive up but when they woke up their cute little faces were amazed with the beautiful snow coving everything they could see out their windows. We new a blizzard was in the forecast and we were excited to see how our new car would handle the snowy drive. We just turned it on into 4w drive and up the mountain we went! We got to our Time share and finally got to relax after 3 days of Christmas activities. I brought some of the kids new toys so they were in HEAVEN! The next morning we woke up to snow falling and the perfect peaceful sound of well... nothing but the snow falling! The next 3 days we just hung out with the 4 of us and enjoyed more and more snow falling! The kids played in the snow. Cole was all about it and Carly not so much. I think we might have a beach girl on our hands. Cole was the most excited to try out his snowboard and snowboard gear for the first time. JD took him on a little hill at the Time Share and away he went. The next day we heard to Sierra at Tahoe to let the boys snowboard and for Carly and I to play in the snow. Within 5 minutes JD had Cole going up the lift and within a hour he was off to the big hills. That kid is so athletic it blows my mind. I had pictured Carly and myself sitting in the lodge by the fire, her playing and me drinking a nice cole beverage but boy was I wrong. It was PACKED and we had to eat lunch on the floor, and fight for a seat. It finally took Carly to falling asleep in my arms with me standing up for a nice young kid to offer up his seat to me... thank you to that 20 something year old that called me ma mm...ugg! The boys finally found us about 4 hours later and the look on Cole's face made my not so fun afternoon vanish as I listened to him talk so fast with excitement about the fun he had with his dad! We stayed a few more days and then came home to enjoy the last few days of 2012 and JD's vacation. With JD traveling so much it sure does make our time together more special!
